My journey in education spans from special education teaching to district leadership, with time at the state level along the way. This journey allowed me to form close relationships and learn nuances of the system from all roles in the central office as a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet, including with the Director of Finance, Director of Operations, technology leaders, Boards of Education, building leaders, department leaders, and teacher leaders.
In my early career as a classroom teacher, I witnessed the impact a school or district leader could make, while state and district roles taught me to navigate diverse perspectives and complex systems. Through both successes and challenges, I've gained deep insight into educational leadership at all levels. My time as a Director of Special Education exposed me to the multi-faceted relationships and functioning of central office, school-based, departmental, and team led positions. ​
